Cost and payment
How much does tuition cost?
Tuition is weekly and depends on your child’s age and schedule (full time, part time or after school). Call us at 718.823.2423 or come for a tour and we will give you the current rate for your child. We also accept ACS and HRA child care vouchers.
Is there a registration fee or a deposit?
Yes. The registration fee is $150, due when your child enrolls and again in the first week of July to keep their place for the next school year. It is non-refundable.
The deposit is one week of tuition. It pays for your child’s last week with us, as long as you give two weeks’ written notice before they leave.
Do you accept ACS and HRA vouchers?
Yes, we accept ACS and HRA child care vouchers. Let us know you have one, or have applied for one, when you call or send us the enquiry form.
How and when do I pay?
Tuition is paid every Thursday by noon for the following week. It is based on enrollment, not attendance, so it is the same if your child is absent. You can pay by bank transfer (ACH, $1.33 per payment) or by debit or credit card (2.4% per payment). Late payment fees apply; the Contract and Policies form has the details.

What ages do you accept?
We take children from 20 months old, and school-age children in our after-school program.
What do I need to register my child?
The five forms above, the $150 registration fee and the one-week deposit. The Medical Statement must be completed by your child’s doctor, physician assistant or nurse practitioner, and your child’s immunizations must be up to date before they start. We ask for an updated physical every year.
How do I schedule a tour?
Call us at 718.823.2423 or send us the enquiry form and we will set a time. We have two locations in the Bronx: Throgs Neck (2969 Lawton Avenue) and Country Club (3159 Spencer Drive).
When can my child start?
Most children start the week after their tour, once a place is open and the forms, registration fee and deposit are in.
What happens after I submit the forms?
We review them and contact you to confirm your child’s start date. If anything is missing, such as the Medical Statement, we will let you know what we still need.
Is Rainbow Palace licensed?
Yes. Rainbow Palace is a group family day care licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We are licensed for 12 full-time children plus 4 after-school children, and all of our staff are CPR and First Aid certified.
Your child’s day
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Care before 7:30 a.m. or after 5:30 p.m. is available at $20 for every 15 minutes. Please drop off before 10:00 a.m. or after 1:30 p.m., because lunch and nap time run in between.
Do you offer part-time care?
Yes. We offer full-time, part-time and after-school care. Tell us the days you need when you call or send us the enquiry form.
Are meals included?
We serve breakfast, lunch and snacks every day. Rainbow Palace takes part in the USDA food program, so meals meet USDA requirements.
What should my child bring?
A clean fitted crib sheet every Monday for nap time (we send it home on Fridays to be washed) and sunscreen for sunny days. We provide the nap mat, and your child gets a free Rainbow Palace uniform t-shirt at registration; uniforms are worn from 18 months. Please leave toys at home.
When are you closed?
On major holidays and for the last two weeks of August. The Contract and Policies form explains how tuition works for those weeks.
